Act with Discernment

How to Know What to Do Next

Truly seeking God’s will? God will guide you.

This verse is my reminder:

“For we are of God’s making, created in union with the Messiah Yeshua for a life of good actions already prepared by God for us to do” (Eph. 2:9-10, CJB)

Trusting that God already has a plan for you will help you discern your next step. Then, ask yourself, Will my actions . . .

  1. Honor God?
  2. Help others?
  3. Allow me to care for myself?
  4. Use my gifts effectively for a noble goal?

If yes to all four, proceed in faith.

Laura, this post is so timely for me. Our Sunday School lesson for Sunday is titled “Choosing to Trust God” & makes the point the we should choose to trust God, even when we don’t “feel” like trusting God. The scripture & questions are so appropriate. Thanks for sharing this.

Thank you for the reminder. Seems so easy, but we do make it difficult by overthinking.

Nice checklist — will keep that in mind to share with a friend in my Bible study group. 🙂

    • Thanks, Cindy! I think #3 tends to be overlooked by many women. I hope it will be helpful to your friend.
